Yes it’s true.
People in this crazy world in which we live DO tend to scam one another from time to time.
Does Amway fall into this category or is it a legitimate business that people make money in?
In order to answer that question we need to look at 3 key areas. History, product, business model.
HISTORY
True scams are notoriously short-lived.
Amway on the other hand has been around for nearly a century.
Famous authors have written books and used Amway as case studies.
This longevity in the marketplace indicates a viable business model.
PRODUCT
Definitions of the word “Scam” may vary from place to place but one common denominator that they all agree on is that in order for a transaction to be designated “legitimate”, a product or service must be exchanged for the money.
You could say that Amway pushes a couple different “products”.
1) The soap, shampoo and other wares distributed by Amway.
2) The business opportunity.
The actual products and services are ALWAYS delivered in exchange for money from the customer.
It’s the 2nd category that sometimes leads people to believe that there is an Amway scam. It’s when unrealistic expectations are preached from the pulipit that “Amway Scam” cries start to surface.
Not everyone makes money in business.
So, if you join Amway with the realization that there are no guarantees and that you have to put in the effort and develop the skills necessary for success, odds are you’ll be just fine.
BUSINESS MODEL
Still others believe that a scam exists because the organizations are structured like a pyramid and therefore it must be some type of illegal pyramid scheme.
When you really take the time to think about the question at hand, you’ll see what a silly assumption that is.
In a pyramid people just give money to the guy upline without getting anything in return for the money.
If pyramid shapes were illegal, our government, all corporations and churches would be classified as scams
CONCLUSION
Although Amway is clearly not a scam, you can still come away from the business disenchanted.
You CAN be successful in Amway and business in general if you are willing to do what it takes.
